NEXT MEETING at Club Thunder Sunday February 15,2009 2:00PM

1.) Purpose:
TerryBear Magic proposed a "Pub Crawl" style event where participating clubs would provde a DJ & entertainment for a set which is part of a larger event.

3.) What the event will look like
All types & genders of avatar will be welcome at all venues Each venue will provide a 90 minute event and is responsible for thier own staffing & wages Clubs will remain the same, no special decorating or changes required. Each club will have a teleport point for the next venue It will be strongly encouraged to ensure original DJ's throughout the event. New DJ's are a plus The SL Club Network will provide one stream for all venues & DJ's to use for this event (the cost of this stream will be shared equally by participating club owners) ACTION ITEM - MattKR Sassower will look into stream rentals for the event

4.) Communication: In-World
At each meeting someone will take and compile minutes to be distributed to everyone present.
ACTION ITEM - Jonathan Schenkel will coordinate a mailing list for the SL Club Network for in world communicationOut of World We will create an Online Blog for people to discuss items inbetween meetings.
ACTION ITEM - Jonathan Beattie will create an online Blog and help people to join http://slclubnetwork.blogspot.com/ is the blog Jonathon Beattie created. You need a gmail account - Contact Jon B. for information and support

At the Event We agreed that it is more beneficial for people to participate in a mailing list as opposed to an SL Group.
ACTION ITEM - Jonathan Schenkel will create joining signs for use at the venues as well as a central mailing system to keep people updated.

5.) Advertising
The SL Club network will create a logo
Each venue will display a poster for the event before the date
ACTION ITEM - Dyann McMinnar has volunteered her talents to create images & promotionClubs will encourage thier DJ's who host groups to promote the event Text for notices, IM chats, & publicity need to be created to give a consistant message from any advertising source

5.) Promotion A token can be created for the event - a suggestion was a tour shirt with all participating clubs listed on the back

DJ SYRIANA DISCUSSION REGARDING STREAMS:

[19:23] Jonathan Schenkel: and I had a technical DJ stream question for you[19:23] Jonathan Schenkel: is it possible that multiple DJ's use the same stream URL as long as there is time to switch users inbetween?

[19:23] Syriana Paine: they cant be on the stream at the same time
[19:23] Jonathan Schenkel: Ahhh I gotcha, thank you!
[19:23] Syriana Paine: only one DJ can log in at a time
[19:24] Jonathan Schenkel: there's a group that is looking to do a pub crawl type event and they want to rent one stream for all the venues to play that the DJ's will log on to instead of DJ's switching thier own streams. I'm trying to research the pro's and cons

[19:25] Syriana Paine: you have to give out the stream and pw to each person so they can log in
[19:25] Syriana Paine: so if one decides to swap the pw and be an ass
[19:25] Syriana Paine: you're fucked
[19:25] Jonathan Schenkel: yeahhhh that makes sense
[19:26] Syriana Paine: for us, we have to put in the stream location, port and password into what's called an encoder to be able to log into it
[19:26] Jonathan Schenkel: oh my
[19:26] Syriana Paine: I dont like using club streams personally
[19:26] Syriana Paine: I've usually found it's not as clear
[19:26] Syriana Paine: that said, if they got the stream from the place I do, maybe wouldnt be an issue, hard to tell
[19:26] Syriana Paine: the other thing is
[19:26] Syriana Paine: is someone doesnt log out, say the crashed or isp went down
[19:27] Syriana Paine: no one else can log in unless they've been given admin rights on the website to eject the current person on the stream
[19:28] Jonathan Schenkel: ahhhh this is all valuable information
[19:28] Jonathan Schenkel: it's a grassroots effort, so I'm going to the right folks to make sure it's a quality project in the end
[19:29] Jonathan Schenkel: this makes me reconsider - maybe it's just easier that the DJ's deal with thier own streams
[19:29] Syriana Paine: the best way to combat that problem I've found is for the club to have a back up stream
[19:29] Syriana Paine: that also combats if a particular server goes down[
19:29] Syriana Paine: or if an ass changes the pw to one
[19:29] Syriana Paine: and ppl do get petty and change them
[19:29] Jonathan Schenkel: Ooooooohhhh smart! we were talking about back ups - that is also a diamond suggestion
